We're a small business

Phoenix Foundry is a small startup business based out of the Boston, Massachusetts area. We have acquired the IP and technical data rights to Phoenix Foundry's line of mobile refrigeration & heating systems from the DoD. We are currently seeking partners to commercialize these technologies.

Expertise

Phoenix Foundry's line of mobile refrigeration & heating systems have been designed, developed and tested to the most rigorous Military standards over the past decade. We have a vast breadth of experience encompassing MIL-Standard testing (performance, vibration, EMI, drop, flame, abrasion, etc), textile manufacturing, refrigeration systems, heating system, power systems and insulation technologies. We are also intimately familiar with various DoD user evaluation venues, DoD contracting practices and contracting vehicles and Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) procurement practices and mechanisms.

Technology Background

HARP

Phoenix Foundry's HARP mobile refrigeration system was originally designed for U.S. Military personnel operating in Africa, where due to a lack of infrastructure and high ambient temperatures, medical supplies would reach unusable temperatures before the conclusion of long duration missions. This would often result in medical personnel being unable to treat patients in the field for heat related ailments. The HARP solved this problem by providing personnel in austere conditions the ability to rapidly cool down water and IV bags after any period of time.

Golden HARP

Phoenix Foundry's Golden HARP unit was designed at the request of the U.S. Army Medical Material Agency (USAMMA) who required the capability to safely store and bring blood to front-line helicopter MEDEVAC operations; hence the reduced size and weight for helicopter transport where space is a premium. The Golden HARP's ability to store blood and vaccines at proper temperature for extended periods of time in both hot and cold climates made the Golden HARP optimal not only for MEDEVAC operations, but for  long duration land based missions as well.

Non-MILSPEC Variants

Due to requests for a reduced cost system, we have worked with our refrigeration system partner and textile manufacturer to provide a non-MILSPEC version of the HARP/Golden HARP at a drastically reduced cost.
